If your telematics AI influences individual insurance pricing decisions — and it does — you're operating an AI system that may fall within EU AI Act Annex III, Category 5(b): systems used to evaluate creditworthiness or establish credit scores, or to evaluate eligibility for insurance.
Where Annex III applies, Article 14 (human oversight) becomes a mandatory compliance requirement. Your customer isn't asking about this because they're being difficult. They're asking because they are the deployer, and Article 14 compliance is their legal obligation when they purchase your system.
